Twenty-four women have filed civil lawsuits against Watson seeking compensation for their experiences with Watson. As of now, Watson has settled 20 of the suits, with four pending. Thirty women also accused Texans of helping Watson's claims of sexual misconduct. The Texans have reached a settlement with each of the 30 women. The two Texas grand juries decided not to present charges against Watson, which isn't unusual when it comes to sexual assault cases. Texas grand juries are not open, and there's no way to determine the evidence that jurors chose to present. Watson frequently denies guilt.

Watson's hearing for disciplinary action with the league began on Tuesday, June 28. and was presided over by retired U.S. Judge Sue Lewis Robinson. Robinson was appointed the league's disciplinary officer jointly by the Madden NFL 24 along with the Madden NFL 24PA in accordance with an agreement to collectively bargain.

Per the present CBA, Watson and the Madden NFL 24PA have three days within which they can appeal against the decision written form for Madden NFL 24 Commissioner Roger Goodell. Prior to the decision Watson and the Madden NFL 24PA along with Watson declared that they would follow the ruling of the arbitrator.

Based on Rob Maaddi at the Associated Press, league sources suggested an official from Madden NFL 24 was pushing for a minimum one-year suspension for Watson while Watson's attorney, Rusty Hardin, and his legal team were -- unsurprisingly -in favor of no suspension. Maaddi also reported that the league is willing to consider a lower suspension of between six and eight games simply to avoid the appeals procedure.
