Pleached Hornbeams are great for constructing garden rooms, producing a green screen above head height, defining pathways, and directing the attention to a certain focal point or Pleached hornbeam hedge is a robust, dense hedge plant. Despite being deciduous, Hornbeam leaves retain their shape and become a gorgeous copper hue during the coldest winter months. During the summer, they will develop dark/medium-green dense bushy leaves. Hornbeams prefer full sun or partial shade in a landscape plan, with a slow to medium growth pace. They can thrive in hard clay soils and tolerate windy conditions. Hornbeams were an excellent choice for our North Fitzroy garden design project's entertaining courtyard. We're excited to see how the canopy develops.
