I have extensive experience as a traffic calming expert in the UK. There have been numerous instances of traffic control measures that have been either badly implemented or downright disruptive, as I discussed in a previous guest post I've linked here. Bump strips and speed bumps, which are commonplace on American streets, are contentious issues. Although they have the commendable intention of lowering vehicle speeds, their execution is often insufficient. The greatest remedy ever is here: cobbled speed bump strips! In addition to enhancing the road's operation, they also take into account safety considerations.
